How to fight on L.A. Noire? (Xbox 360)?
On some cases in L.A. Noire on Xbox 360 the suspects who you are questioning fight with you and start to punch you.
I press all the buttons on the controller but the officer does not seem to fight back!
I keep failing cases because of Officer Down because i do not know how to fight.

Okay so i read the ESRB rating of L.A. It depends.. on one case I missed a lot of questions but was able to solve it anyway and I got a bad rating. In another one, I screwed up the last round of questioning and had to replay that part so someone could be charged. Neither will prolong the case or make you go out after more evidence.

I own L.A and im also 13. The violence in the game is nothing more, nothing less than most of today's M rated games. The nudity maybe an issue, it exposes full coverage of female preserver cadavers. ( dead human bodies) You cannot skip these missions as their not in cut-scenes. The missions which contain nudity are the first three missions on the homicide desk, you would gain a deeper understanding of this, as you play through the game.
Please be aware before you purchase this game it doesn't compare to other games PUBLISHED by rockstar in many aspects. I am not saying it isn't as good, just don't expect to go on any mass killing sprees. The map is the real beauty of the game, it's 8 miles big and tremendous detail.
I would recommend this title for more gamers, who don't care that action isn't the games strong point it is the story and playing the role of the detective.

I decided to play some GTA IV yesterday and wow, I can't believe how much graphics have improved as of late. I'm use to games with graphics like LA Noire, Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, etc... Anyway, I am looking forward to GTA V because I've got a feeling the graphics are going to be on par with LA Noire. Like GTA4, but an Improvement on 2008's graphics, can't say I'm too fussed about the facial movement, that was done by Team Bondi I believe anyway, so unless Rockstar work with Bondi again its just going to be facial movements like in GTA4 but hopefully improved.
Red Dead Redemptions graphics would be good for the desert wasteland like we saw in San Andreas.
Maybe a mixture of RDR and improve on GTA4's wich it expected:P

You will have to try turning all graphical settings in the game down, try a lower resolution. If you have already done that or you try and it does not help, then you need a newer faster computer. I would recommend a desktop for gaming since they are much easier to upgrade and take care of yourself without having to pay someone to do it for you.

I suck at it. I can't tell if they're lying or telling the truth. They use shifty facial expression, but when I press "doubt" it turns out wrong. I know it probably meant that they were lying. I beat the game a weak ago. What you need to focus on is the tone of their voice and all your evidence. Sometimes their facial expressions matter. Make sure to look back at your note book pressing the button to activate "View Notebook" under your choices judging if the person is telling the truth or not. Look for obvious voice tones telling you that they are nervous and/or trying to make something up. Try and keep looking at your notebook for clues if your not sure and read over the description. Sometimes they can really try and make it hard for you, making it sound like they are lying and they are really telling the truth...etc. Focus on evidence, evidence, evidence! If they keep looking jittery for a long time and not calm it probably means it's a doubt or lie. Just never over look if they say something bluffing about your evidence. Actually look over your notes once and a while and memorize it, sort of. Just never overlook something or you could end up failing the mission if your in a final interview. Keep checking for bluffs and don't be afraid to be rough on the suspect if you think Cole Phelps; The main character is a softy because he might just surprise you! Good luck! I already finished the game and saw the ending. When the cop in the end made his speach about Phelps, did any of you dislike that, I sure did. Since he wasn't really his friend. How do I know when i have finished street crimes in L.A. Noire?
I looked at the la noire wiki and it showed me homicide street cases that I havent done. But when I look on my map for the homicide free roam there isnt any more street crimes and my police radio is calling in crimes ive already done. To see how many street crimes you have left go to the in game menu in la noire and go to statistics. It should tell you how many street crimes are left.

Yes I understand if you take it out of the 40s you'd have to drop the "Noire" part in the title but setting it in a different decade I think would keep the game fresh. Police investigations and ways of prosecuting crimes also evolved with each decade, which would add deeper gameplay to the sequel.

You could also try deleting the game data utility--not the save file-- and then reload it. Sometimes this gets corrupted and can cause problems. My guess is that your system is having overheating issues. That was the problem with my system. I also had problems with certain games. 60gb is easily enough to run that game and many more, so that is not the issue. Something is wrong internally. You most likely will experience this problem with other games in the future. This is just the start. It is true that certain games with massive amounts of data can be more difficult for ps3's to read. Your system is getting taxed trying to read the data on the disc and is expediting the overheating process. The bottom line is that your ps3 shouldn't just cut out on you. L.A Noire is one of the LARGEST games that has ever game out on Playstation 3. Since L.A Noire is very full of cinematic parts to the game and is such a long game, it makes it a huge file that is being put on your Playstation.
I can understand why it is crashing, since most Blu-Rays can support up to 50GB of space the game fills most of that putting a lot of stress on your hard drive trying to process something that is pretty huge.
If I were you, I'd try getting a new hard drive (pretty simple to put in and out with a few internet tutorials) or have somebody do it for you and get the same result. The game will work with your PS3, but if you keep it how it is, it'll probably continuously overheat and crash since its putting A LOT of stress on your hard drive.
To give you an example of how huge a file it is: Xbox360 has 3 discs just to play the game and they have to switch them 3 times periodically while playing the game.

I love thinking games and doing puzzles and stuff. Portal 2 seems like fun but I worry that I will get stuck at a part forever! Both games are very good but their two different genre's in gaming, LA Noire is great with the whole interrigation aspect and overall a good game, Its pretty long too so if you were to rent it out, it would have to be for a good while, Portal is just as fun as LA Noire but if i had to pick, I'd choose LA Noire to buy and I'd rent out Portal, This is only my opinion so whatever your into more, Go for it :)Should I get l a noire or portal 2?

I'd personally recommend Portal 2, its gameplay seems a lot more exciting, and isn't achieving something which strains your brain more rewarding? To me it is anyway! And how can you not love Whitley (you'll know who I mean when/if you buy P2).
Make your own decision, not anyone else's. Besides, Portal games are a lot more popular for a reason.

The Public Library car park in the Quarter Moon case.
The Buyer Beware case in the parking lot of eaglesons gun store.
The upon reflection case. Nothing!

Yes , a lot better, even though GTA %26amp; RDR are similar in the movement ECT, LA noire looks abit better, but the graphics are amazing and the facial movement is incredible. I'm 16, and have plenty of rated M games, but I know that L.A. Noire has nudity and sexual references during crime scenes. My parents don't really mind the violence, but they are far more strict on sexual content, what is the best way to explain to them that the nudity and sexual references aren't a huge problem without totally lying to them, because they can easily look it up.How do I convince my parents that L.A. I play L.A. Noire and it is by far the best game I have ever played. Lol. Sorry for bragging. Anyway, the game is okay for your age. Show your parents this comment. It is not biggie, the girls that are naked are not having sex with you, there just on the ground with there boobs showing. You can't really see there, you know, just because it's kind of hard. Just tell your parents, your a detective in the 1940's solving crime. It's a great game, and it teaches a lot. There is not that much nudity either, just in a couple cases.

do you have it on pc or on xbox? on xbox it has different disks because each disk lets you play different parts of the game, because it has so good of graphics (in the cut-scenes) that each disk has little or no space on it. If on pc i am not sure, because i read on multiple site that it wasn't coming out on pc i bought it for xbox, though now it is out on pc cheaper than my xbox's copy was.

It was a time when Hollywood 'took off' aftre the war, where all the rich gathered and the poor went into to heavy crime. The intro to LA Noire explains a lot, much like the intro to the film LA Confidential. I think GTA covered a new york based game and as for chicago I think its only a matter of time before we see a game based on The Wire where you can either be the Chicago Narco's or a member of Avon Barksdale's boys... well I hope it is anyway!
long story short watch the intro, read up on wikipedia on history of LA // Hollywood - or just play the game and accept it and enjoy it as it is addictive and very well scripted and thought out - as are all Rockstar Games' titles.

The Hollywood aspect of the game is a very important one...you don't get that in New York or Chicago. Why 1947? You'd have to ask the creators of the game for an exact answer, but I suppose it interests people...there are so many games based in modern times, in the future, and a really long time ago. I suppose they were trying to get a new perspective on an era that has so far only really used for WWII-themed games

In the video game L.A. Noire, there is a case called "A Walk in Elysian Fields". You have to chase Herbert Chapman who has taken over a trolley. Then you have to shoot him and the case is over. Is there anyway to finish the case just by arresting him? Because at the end of the case it says under case notes that he takes his motive to the grave.
