I suck at it. I can't tell if they're lying or telling the truth. They use shifty facial expression, but when I press "doubt" it turns out wrong. I know it probably meant that they were lying. Sometimes they even do a confident expression and I think it's the truth, I get it wrong. It's really annoying!How do I become better at reading people on L.A Noire?
I beat the game a weak ago. What you need to focus on is the tone of their voice and all your evidence. Sometimes their facial expressions matter. Make sure to look back at your note book pressing the button to activate "View Notebook" under your choices judging if the person is telling the truth or not. Look for obvious voice tones telling you that they are nervous and/or trying to make something up. Try and keep looking at your notebook for clues if your not sure and read over the description. Sometimes they can really try and make it hard for you, making it sound like they are lying and they are really telling the truth...etc. Focus on evidence, evidence, evidence! If they keep looking jittery for a long time and not calm it probably means it's a doubt or lie. Just never over look if they say something bluffing about your evidence. Actually look over your notes once and a while and memorize it, sort of. Just never overlook something or you could end up failing the mission if your in a final interview. Keep checking for bluffs and don't be afraid to be rough on the suspect if you think Cole Phelps; The main character is a softy because he might just surprise you! Good luck! All I am saying is this game has a sad ending, but it's fantastic!How do I become better at reading people on L.A Noire?
It's more than just their facial expressions (I've never played it, but I'm going to guess they incorporated it), you need to watch the rest of their body language. Did they cross their arms? That's a sign of defending one self, which is an obvious sign of insecurity. Did they sit back against something using their arms to support themselves. If they leave their chest area open then that shows they are confident. Of course, you still need to be able to see past these signs, as they can be easily faked.
Eye movement, tone of voice. Anything about a person's posture can show whether or not they're lying.How do I become better at reading people on L.A Noire?
It's very tricky (and doesn't always seem to make sense), but;
generally for truth, they're staring straight ahead and looking calm.
If it's a lie, then you need a bit of evidence to back it up. So if you think someone is lying then check your evidence for something that would prove it.
And doubt is for the rest. When you think they're hiding something.
mind you, i only managed to get about half of them on my first play-through....
