What decade should the L.A. Noire sequel be set in?

Yes I understand if you take it out of the 40s you'd have to drop the "Noire" part in the title but setting it in a different decade I think would keep the game fresh. Police investigations and ways of prosecuting crimes also evolved with each decade, which would add deeper gameplay to the sequel.
